The Albert Hunt Trust joins The Hymans Robertson Foundation to fund hardship and development bursaries for young people in Glasgow and Birmingham, expanding to London and Edinburgh in 2026.

We are delighted to confirm that the UK grant maker The Albert Hunt Trust, a grant giving charitable trust has joined other funders in supporting city based bursaries to young people. The Trust’s support will be directed to young people in Glasgow and Birmingham initially with further support to London and Edinburgh from 2026.

Marcella Boyle, HRF CEO commented

Support from the Albert Hunt Trust is welcomed, at a time when we continue to see increased demand from young people for small grant funding to overcome hardship and/or support their development. The Trust’s funding is flexible which gives us opportunity to target to specific cities with priority to Birmingham and Glasgow initially, and from 2026, Edinburgh and London.

Jane Dellar Ray, Operations Manager for the Trust commented

City based bursaries support children and young people in a meaningful way, providing much needed support at times of hardship or transitions. We recognised in Birmingham particularly the focus on supporting young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Our funding, with others, provides small grant funds to help young people progress and thrive. We noted the positive impact of bursaries to date, we are pleased to be part of a funding partnership that provides dignified financial support.
