Allison Barnes, the Scotland Manager at the Money and Pensions Service, leading on the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing in Scotland, working closely with Scottish Government and key stakeholders. A passionate advocate for financial education for children and young people and convenes the Scottish Financial Education Forum.
One of the nation’s leading experts on and proponents of financial capability Allison moved in 2006, from a successful career in the financial services industry, to the Financial Service Authority (FSA) as their financial capability lead in Scotland. She has since continued this work with the Consumer Finance Education Body (CFEB), the Money Advice Service and now the Money and Pensions Service.
Allison is also a volunteer for the MCR Pathways Programme mentoring a young person in school, and the Vice-Chair of Disability Information Scotland.
